About
Our Story
Southwold Harbour Café has been part of the view for as long as Simon can remember. He walked past more times than could be counted, always with the same thought: this site deserved a brasserie built around fresh fish, some of it landed right there on the harbour. When the site came up after La Roc's six years there, the decision was easy. Salt Shore is the result of a vision twenty years in the making.
There's nowhere else quite like it on the Suffolk coast. Salt Shore sits right on the Blyth Estuary, next door to a boat builder's yard, so there's always something to watch from the terrace. Light and bright, all timber and glass, with big windows framing the water, the building sets the tone, and the food follows the same spirit: simple, fresh, unfussy.
Salt Shore joins the Goldthorpe Group, an established name in food-led pubs across the region, known for a warm welcome and food and drink done properly. Jenny and Simon have worked in hospitality together for fifteen years, with kitchen and front-of-house roles between them, and now run the whole operation hand in hand, with Simon still closely overseeing the kitchen and chefs.
See you soon.
